This policy explains what information The 812 app uses, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information the app may use

• Location: If you grant permission, latitude, longitude, and a general location label may be used to show local weather, radar, and location-based alerts.
• Notification information: An app installation identifier, push token, notification permission status, and alert preferences may be stored so requested notifications can be delivered.
• App activity: Basic technical request information may be processed when the app loads news, weather, business spotlights, videos, and other content.

How information is used

Information is used to provide app functionality, load local content, remember your preferences, show weather for a selected area, deliver notifications you enable, maintain security, and diagnose service problems.

Services used by the app

The app may use service providers for hosting, data storage, push delivery, weather information, maps, radar, and embedded video. These providers process only the information needed to supply their services and may apply their own privacy policies. Embedded YouTube video is governed by Google's privacy practices.

Sharing and sale of information

The 812 does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers when necessary to operate the app, comply with law, protect users, or secure the service.

Your choices

Location and notifications are optional. You can change or remove those permissions in your phone settings. Alert categories and location sharing can also be adjusted in App Settings. The news, business spotlight, and video sections remain available without location access.

Retention and security

Notification registration and location preferences are retained only while needed to provide the selected features or meet operational and legal requirements. Reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The app is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the app.

This policy may be updated as the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
